I've been looking at a NH TC40D (even though I own a smaller Green I didn't think I could afford a 4710). After pricing the TC40D (SS w/17LA FEL rear remotes, R4s, block heater) and a 6' rotary cutter at about $24,300, I decided to "just check out" the JD 4710. A JD dealer about a half hour away has a 4710 e-Hydro, with a 460 FEL, 2 rear remotes, block heater, and a 6' rotary cutter for $23,800! Is this even a close call? I like the loader & hydro on the 4710 better and it's 8HP larger. I like the super steer on the TC40D but it's not worth that difference. To say the least I was shocked at the price comparison. (Note: I was looking at a TC40D instead of the TC45D because that's what the NH dealer had on the lot.) What do you think?

I think your NH dealer is high. I priced just over 21K for a TC45D and loader. I have no idea what the 4710 prices at as I was scared off by the local pricing on the 4300.

Peters,
I don't know if it's local competition or what but I have been doing some heavy shopping and pricing the past month and have found that JD dealers in my area ( Houston) are meeting or beating the NH prices. Like you I aloway thought I couldn't afford the green machine, but it's starting to look like maybe I cont afford not to. My needs arent quite as big (4310) but I'm seeing the same difference in price. Let us know the outcome ....

Tex;
I own green, I just did not buy new, I bought used. I have found better deals on the used green than new and other tractors. Could be the neophytes willingness to spend for green or my willingness to wait to the dead of winter to buy, but I have had good prices on slightly used green.
The NH dealer in MS is much cheaper than the JD/kubota dealer. ....
